Preserving affordable housing for the good of all people.
Columbus Housing Enterprise (CHE) is a newly formed nonprofit created to acquire and maintain existing affordable housing in Central Ohio. The initiative was conceived by local business and community leaders Don Kelley and Robert Weiler, along with their families.
Recognizing that more affordable housing is needed than can feasibly be created through public subsidies alone, CHE leverages the generosity of mission-minded leaders in the private sector to help meet this challenge.
CHE has acquired 3 apartment complexes from the Kelley and Weiler families at a significant discount from market value. This philanthropic commitment allows CHE to maintain affordable rents and provide supportive services to residents. Copperleaf Apartments, Cave Cove Apartments, and Rosebrook Village Apartments have a total of 640 units.
Che is currently working with business and community leaders to acquire additional naturally occurring affordable housing developments.
Columbus Housing Enterprise was founded to preserve affordable housing through the generosity of mission-minded leaders, so that our entire community can thrive.
